  • The Columbus Zoo will be visiting on March 12th. Please inform Shawn of your guests by March 5th. Bring your children/grand-children!
  • Wally took a few minutes to remind the businesses in the club they need to be proactive regarding the Coronavirus.
    • Some things to consider? How will my business respond? If the employee is quarantined do they get paid sick time?
    • Do you have a plan in place? How are you communicating your plan?
    • Bottom line: Be proactive!
    • Scott Cantley announced the hospital has a 24 hr hotline staffed by nurses. The hospital is working daily with the CDC. If you are tested for the Coronavirus, MMH has to send your specimen away and wait up to 5 days for results.
    • Scott stressed if you feel like you have symptoms the first thing you should do is call the 24 hour hospital hot line.
Good News-Bad News:
  • Wally Kandel announced that Solvay is holding their annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection and Paint Swap Day on April 4, 2020 at Solvay Employee Park.
  • David Brown announced he left flyers about cyber security Tips and Tricks on each table in response to questions from last week’s presentation.
  • McKenzie Allen announced that Dupont is liquidating their DOW and Dupont stock, see your Merrill Lynch or other financial advisor for info and help.
  • George Broughton was made an honorary Kiwanian because he sells more Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast tickets than any other Kiwanian.
  • President Shawn shared that the warren warriors will be at the Congregation Center in Athens for the Sweet 16.
  • Johnny Wharff shared that he ran into someone he dated way back in college.
  • Terry Rataizcak announced that life comes to a sweet full circle. Years ago, his grandparents, one with the surname Zigmont, honeymooned at the Lafayette. And Terry’s daughter delivered Terry’s first grandchild yesterday, named Zigmont James.
  • Tasha announced that BB2C has a student panel coming up Thursday the 12th 4:30-6:00pm. The panel will discuss what jobs are available and what jobs students entering the workforce are looking for.
  • Jennifer Sturgill announced that this Friday is First Friday. She will have the 2 gals who won the bakery in her shop.
Sergeant at Arms:
Eric Erb reflected back on his Jan 2020 predictions and gave updates such as:
  • Have Kathy and Tina behaved like ladies? The resounding club vote was ‘NO!’
  • Pat and Bill Peoples are holding a funeral pre-planning meeting at the Lafayette very soon The lunch menu includes Cheeseburgers and beer. Perhaps a little cardia push towards fulfilling the pre-planning goals.
  • Adam Schewndeman noted to Eric (or so Eric states) that Colleen Cook hounds him about Weekly Rotary attendance and whether his ‘outfit’ is appropriate for Rotary attendance. The pressure is unbearable.
  • Jim Addison moved from 2 naps a day in Jan to 3 as of today.
McKenzie Allen was fined $5 for shameless promotion of her business.
Eric closed by telling an old joke with Tom Fenton as the punch line.
Deanna Schuler, Memorial Health Systems Health and Wellness Department.
Deanna spoke about the Wellness Center and the hospital wellness programs. Deanna has been with the hospital for 16 years and the Wellness center has been open 3.5 years. A quick over view of what they do there (More can be found on the hospital website):  55 Plus, Community education, Patient Programs, Community Collaborations, and Employee Wellness.
Split the Pot:
Pat Peoples won the weekly prize of $63, but missed out on the Jackpot of $887. The game goes on!
